If you have found yourself at my website, it may be that you are looking to make a change. Whether you are looking to change a particular behavior, better your physical or mental health, or change your interactions with others. I can help.
Over the past 30 years I have worked with adult individuals, couples and families and have helped them to increase their level of satisfaction in the relationships they have with each other and with themselves.
The better understanding we have of ourselves the better we can care for ourselves. I believe individual therapy is a process of becoming an expert on you. Learning to love yourself for who you are without judgment is an important part of the therapy process. This non-judgmental stance allows individuals to then recognize behaviors or beliefs that enhance their lives and those that hinder their lives, that they can then evaluate and attempt to change.
When working with couples and families I believe it is important to help them realize that at the root of all relationships is a desire to be loved and connected. When couples stop interacting as if they are on the same team and begin to behave as if they are on opposing teams they lose the connection of partnership and their sense of belonging. Helping couples recognize how their poor/lack of communication interferes with getting their needs met and giving them new tools to build a more solid foundation for their relationship, is often the goal of couples/family therapy.
